Trieste, Koper ports discuss cooperation

Trieste, Italy (PortSEurope) June 19, 2017 – Whilst Trieste and Koper ports are competitors, they can cooperate, especially in the field of promotion and training. This is the perspective outlined by the chairman of the Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Port System (Autorità di sistema portuale dell’Adriatico orientale), Zeno D’Agostino, during a working meeting. The two ports “should grow together, otherwise, they will return to
a mediocre position. We have a great opportunity because of our geopolitical position and the role we have won,” the chairman of the board of directors of Koper port, Dragomir Matic, said. For Matic, a coordinated growth is needed “to meet the competition of the northern European ports and the new Silk Road.” Source: ANSA Copyright (c) PortSEurope. All Rights Reserved. 2017.
