The Minister of Infrastructure, Vladislav Krykliy, met with representatives of the United Nations – October 8, 2019

Today, on October 8, 2019, the Minister of Infrastructure, Vladislav Krikli, met with representatives of the United Nations.

The participants of the meeting discussed cooperation in the framework of improving the legislative framework in accordance with the UN Goals, development of the infrastructure of the Azov region, as well as the possibility of UN technical assistance in the transport sector.

Vladislav Krykliy thanked the UN representatives for their fruitful cooperation and support for projects in Ukraine and stressed the importance of developing relations: “The United Nations is a valuable partner of Ukraine in promoting reform programs in various fields. Ukraine receives significant technical, advisory and financial assistance from UN specialized agencies, its foundations and programs, in particular in the areas of democratic governance, poverty reduction, economic growth, public administration support, HIV / AIDS and other serious illnesses, environmental protection, etc. » .

The Parties noted positive cooperation in the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding and cooperation between the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and the Municipality of Seoul, supported by the UNDP Policy Center in Seoul and in partnership with CoST Ukraine.

The participants of the meeting also noted the positive dynamics and movement of Ukraine towards the ratification of the Convention of the International Labor Organization for Maritime Navigation in 2006, as well as the ratification of the Convention on the Identity of Seafarer No.185.

The Minister of Infrastructure also noted that a number of European integration laws have already been approved by the Verkhovna Rada, and our goal is to approve all European integration laws in the field of transport by the end of the year. In addition, Vladislav Krykliy informed UN representatives about the start of two pilot concession projects at the ports of Kherson and Olbia.

Particular attention was paid to the reconstruction of the infrastructure of the Azov region. The parties discussed the possibility of providing technical assistance in the framework of infrastructure reconstruction in eastern Ukraine.

Vladislav Krykliy invited UN representatives to participate in the Investment Forum on the Donbass Recovery, which will take place in late October 2019 in Mariupol.
