Valencia, Spain (PortSEurope) May 22, 2019 – Italian shipping company Grimaldi plans to dock the Grande Europa vessel, which suffered a fire last week on the high seas near the island of Cabrera, at the cruise terminal of Valencia port.

The ship moves 1,843 vehicles of various brands such as Ford and Fiat and plans to unload the goods to later go to repair.

The ship is being accompanied on the maritime voyage by tugboats of the Boluda Group, which have performed security functions, after remaining in the port of Palma to carry out an examination of the state of the vessel after the fire was put out.

Two helicopters and three Maritime Rescue vessels quickly moved to the area of the incident. The aircraft evacuated 15 crew members to the Navy ship Martín Posadillo. The remaining ten dedicated themselves to suffocating the flames.
