Valencia, Spain (PortSEurope) December 29, 2017 – Valencia port authority (Autoridad Portuaria de Valencia) plans to invest €6 million ($7.2 million) to upgrade the accesses to the container terminal, according to a publication at Spanish state gazette Boletín Oficial del Estado (BOE).
The project is part of the process of adaptation of the terminal to the new market requirements. It will lead to the extension of the rail network at the port to allow the handling of trains with a length of more than 750 metres.
The port authority has called a tender for the container terminal access upgrade and intends to choose the most economically profitable offer. Interested investors will be able to place bids until 1200 local time on February 5. The envelopes containing the technical offers will be opened on February 8. The economic offers will be opened on March 15.
