Huelva, Spain (PortSEurope) January 14, 2020 – Following talks between Autoridad Portuaria de Huelva (APH – Port Authority of Huelva) and Turkish group YILPORT, the parties have agreed to jointly develop the Muelle Sur (South Pier), the 50,000 m² terminal operated by the Yildirim subsidiary.
The joint plan will develop a 300,000 m² container yard over a period of two years, together with an extension of the docking line from 750 metres to 1,250 metres. This will substantially increase the 72,400 TEU handled in 2018.
APH would also like to develop intermodal transport facilities.
Talks were headed by APH President, Pilar Miranda, director of APH, Ignacio Álvarez-Ossorio, and the Head of the Department of Public Port Domain, César Vera, who travelled to Turkey to meet President Robert Yildirim of the Yildirim group.
