Trieste, Italy (PortSEurope) January 10, 2018 – Interporto Spa has acquired two warehouses of Wärtsilä Italia SpA in the area of Trieste port for logistics, manufacturing and industrial activities.
The transaction has a value of €20 million ($23.9 million) and could lead to the hiring of about 100 employees, the president of the regional government of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Debora Serracchiani, has said.
Interporto SpA has completed a capital hike to ensure funding for the acquisition of the warehouses, the president of the Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea Port System (AdSP – Autorità di Sistema Portuale del mare Adriatico Orientale), Zeno D’Agostino, has said.
After the completion of the capital hike, the port authority lifted its stake in the capital of Interporto SpA to 30% from 6%.
