Containerships starts Ferrol-Canary Islands service

Ferrol, Spain (PortSEurope) November 18, 2020 – Containerships, part of CMA CGM, is to commence a weekly service linking the Galician port of Ferrol with Las Palmas de Gran Canarianand Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Ferrol port offers the deepest container terminal in the Atlantic Coast of Southwest Europe. The terminal offers a quay wall of 1450 meters, 20 meters’ deep draft, and an annual container
handling capacity up to 1.500.000 TEUs in its 290.000 m² of land area. Operated by Yilport Ferrol, it can accommodate and serve the biggest ultra large container vessels expected to be built in the upcoming years. The new service should enable Galician industry to access more markets. The new service managed by Containerships joins the two operations, of the same shipping company, which already offer connections with England (Liverpool, Bristol and Tilbury), Scotland (Greenock), Ireland (Dublin), the Netherlands (Rotterdam), Germany, Denmark , Finland, Poland, Sweden, Norway, Russia and the Baltic countries.  Copyright (C) PortSEurope.
