COSCO sets up OceanRail Logistics in Greece

Piraeus, Greece (PortSEurope) January 3, 2018 – Chinese COSCO Shipping and Ports Limited has announced the setting up of OceanRail Logistics S.A. The company is a vehicle for COSCO to develop the railway connections between the Greek port of the Piraeus and European destination markets for container traffic. The initiative is framed in the within of the New Silk Road economic strategy, the Chinese government’s plan
to improve Asian-European transport links, providing better access to European markets for particularly Chinese goods.
