Aveiro, Portugal (PortSEurope) June 14, 2021 – Porto de Aveiro (APA) and Altice Labs have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a view to “creating synergies for the construction of a port of the future”. The agreement constitutes “another step in the implementation of the digital transformation strategy” of the port structure. APA sees the partnership as a step to positioning the Port of Aveiro
as a “Smart and Green Port”, for which Proof of Concept (PoC) will be carried out. The MoU was signed by Alexandre Fonseca, CEO of Altice Portugal, and Fátima Lopes Alves, chairman of the board of directors of the Port of Aveiro, who says this is an important moment for the Port of Aveiro, in its commitment to modernization technological and digital transformation, also reinforcing the search for innovative solutions aimed at the efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability of its activity and the improvement of its infrastructure and services. Both the port of Aveiro and the port of Figueira da Foz seek, with the aim of achieving the status of “Smart and Green Port”, to extend cooperation and partnerships to exploratory projects of open innovation in their areas, with the aim of adding value to them, their stakeholders and the port communities.
