Madrid, Spain (PortSEurope) March 20, 2019 – Ornella Chacón, president of Spanish ports agency Puertos del Estado, is leaving the position for personal reasons after eight months.  Chacón, who was also Minister of Public Works and Transport of the government of the Canary Islands, has opted to return to the Canary Islands due to the impossibility of combining her stay in Madrid with her personal situation.
She was appointed by prime minister Pedro Sánchez in July 2018 and became the first woman to assume the position, replacing José Llorca. Source: La Opinión de Tenerife Copyright (C) PortSEurope. All Rights Reserved. 2019.
