Railway connection between the Port of Trieste and Nürnberg is strengthened

Trieste, Italy (PortSEurope) April 26, 2021 – Following its introduction in November last year, the intermodal rail cargo service between Trieste and Nürnberg in Germany is to be expanded. The service connects the Samer Seaport Terminal of the Port of Trieste and the TriCon Container Terminal in Nürnberg, and operates along a railway corridor of over 680 km. The service, operates by DFDS, primeRail Gmbh and Çobantur
Boltas, will see a doubling of its rotation to twice weekly. From November to April, 1,400 units were handled, with a saving of approximately 1,200 tons of CO2 and 3,266 kg of nitrogen oxides. Copyright (C) PortSEurope. All Rights Reserved. 2021.
