Santander Coated Solutions Gets Nod To Expand Facility At Port

Santander, Spain (PortSEurope) December 27, 2017 – Santander port authority (Autoridad Portuaria de Santander) has given the green light to the extension of the concession of Santander Coated Solutions to operate a factory in the harbour area.

In this way, Santander Coated Solutions, a subsidiary of Network Steel, will increase the area operated at the port to 60,369 square metres. The concession has a duration of 45 years and involves a €9 million ($10.7 million) investment.

Santander Coated Solutions begins the second phase of the development of its production network in the northern region of Cantabria, where it already operates a facility for the storage and production of prepainted steel on a 15,000 square metres area of Santander port.

The company plans to start the expansion of its facility in Santander in March 2018 and to complete it within 18 months, until the end of 2019. Santander Coated Solutions will open 200 jobs.
