Ravenna, Italy (PortSEurope) November 19, 2019 – The Chief Executive Officer of Sapir, Mauro Pepoli, and the President of Autorita’ di Sistema Portuale del Mare Adriatico Centro-Settentrionale (AdSP – Centre-North Adriatic Port Authority), Daniele Rossi, have signed the contract whereby Sapir gives an 29,000 m² area of its property, located in the Peninsula of Trattaroli, free to the port authority. Sapir is the main terminal operator of the port of Ravenna
Rossi said this was an important step in the Ravenna Port Hub project, which includes the deepening of the seabed, adaptation of the existing docks and the creation of areas for logistics, provides for the construction of a new quay over 1,000 metres in length on the Canale side of the Peninsula.
Sapir, commented the President Riccardo Sabadini, was established to build the port and marked its fundamental stages of development until the establishment of the Port Authority in 1994. Today with this signature, making available the areas for the construction of the docks of new container terminal, it seems that an important step is being taken in pursuing the mission started over 60 years ago under the presidency of Enrico Mattei.
