Valencia, Spain (PortSEurope) February 12, 2019 – Noatum Container Terminal Valencia, a company controlled by the Chinese state-owned company COSCO and operator of the largest container terminal of Valencia port, has appointed Juan Ortí Llatas as CEO, replacing Asian-born executive Fan Cheng-Chao.
The appointment of Ortí by Noatum takes place in the middle of the company’s expansion strategy as COSCO continues to buy other port facilities in South America.
Ortí Llatas has almost two decades of professional experience in the port, maritime and logistics field. During the last 11 years, he has been in charge of the operations management of the Eastern Mediterranean power unit of Korean multinational shipping company Hanjin Shipping, acting as chief of operations for Spain, Portugal and Africa.
