Santander, Spain (PortSEurope) January 11, 2018 – Santander port handled 558,638 tonnes of cargo in November, up 46.8% on the year.
The liquid bulk cargo handled by Santander port in November jumped 385% to 30,438 tonnes, while solid bulk rose 77.7% to 359,993 tonnes.
The general cargo traffic rose slightly, up 3% to 479 tonnes, while container traffic nearly quadrupled to 971 units from 224.
Earlier this month, the president of Santander port authority (Autoridad Portuaria de Santander), Jaime González, said he is expecting a 15% rise in cargo traffic in each 2017 and 2018.
