Cartagena, Spain (PortSEurope) November 26, 2018 – Autoridad Portuaria de Cartagena (APC – Port Authority of Cartagena)a has signed a €840,000 ($954,000) contract for the construction of two Ro-Ro berths with a consortium of Spanish companies Ferrovial and Jumabeda.
The project includes the construction of two Ro-Ro ramps, one at the Prince Felipe Pier and another at the Isaac Peral Pier, to increase the Ro-Ro cargo traffic and the creation of a truck parking area with 44 places for disembarkation and 29 for boarding.
In addition to the placement of a new signage and the paving of the docks, the areas will be equipped with new facilities such as booths and barriers for access control. An installation of new lighting towers is planned to illuminate the car parks.
